YMCA Safe Place Services

YMCA Safe Place Services is a branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville. We’re committed to making our community stronger by providing help, hope, and healing to teens and families in crisis, including homeless youth and those in need of a youth crisis shelter. Our mission is to accept, affirm, and advocate for youth by empowering them to reach their full potential in spirit, mind, and body.

Teachers, counselors, first responders, friends, or family members are often the first line of defense and can refer youth ages 12-17 to Safe Place Services Shelter House.

Resources for Project Safe Place sites

Safe Place sites are businesses and TARC buses that have been designated as “safe places” for youth to go when in a crisis situation. Safe Place locations include libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, TARC buses, various businesses, and social service facilities.
