Swim Instructor Training

The YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification course is designed to provide participants the knowledge and skills necessary to be a swim lesson instructor. Upon completion, instructors will be able to demonstrate effective instructor behaviors, maintain an inclusive and safe learning environment, employ swim teaching techniques for skill progression at any age, and understand the instructor's role in safety and emergencies.

*Must be 16 years old, be currently certified in BLS, Adult and Pediatric First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration, and have completed the following e-learnings: Principles of Youth Development, YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor: Orientation, and YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor: Observe and Communicate

Dates and Times: July 19, 12-6 pm; July 20, 1-5 pm; July 21, 11am-5 pm
Ages: 16 years old and up
Rates: Facility members: $100; Program members: $150
